The Wu Tang Clan Wiki Biography

The Wu Tang Clan is a hip hop band formed in 1992 in Staten Island, New York, USA, so the band has been active since that year and during all these years has released seven studio and 19 compilation albums, which have sold over 40 million copies all over the world. Some of the albums include “Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” (1993), “8 Diagrams” (2007), “A Better Tomorrow” (2014), “Once Upon A Time In Shaolin” (2015), among others.

Have you ever wondered how much money Wu Tang Clan has, as of mid-2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Wu Tang Clan’s net worth is as high as $20 million, with the main source of this amount of money being, of course, their successful career in the music industry. Another source is coming from its line of clothes. Some of the band’s members have appeared in video games, which have also added to the band`s net worth.

Wu Tang Clan Net Worth $20 Million

Formed in 1992 by rappers RZA, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, Ol` Dirty Bastard, who died in 2004, Cappadonna, and U-God, the band`s first album came out in 1993, entitled ““Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)”, which achieved platinum status. Encouraged by the success of their debut release, the members of the Wu Tang Clan, decided to continue with the group, and four years later, out came the second album, entitled “Wu-Tang Forever”, topping the US Billboard 200 chart, and achieving four times platinum status, increasing the net worth of the group by a large margin.

After the release of their second album, members focused more on their solo careers, however, in 2000, they released their third album “The W” (2000), which also garnered success similar to their previous releases, as it reached No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 chart, and achieved platinum status. The fourth album came out almost immediately, the next year, entitled “Iron Flag”, however, it only reached No. 32 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Torn between their solo careers and the hip hop group, it took six years for members to record and release a new Wu Tang Clan album. The release finally came in 2007, entitled “8 Diagrams”, however, it was nowhere near as successful as their previous releases, reaching only No. 25 on the charts.
Their latest studio album was released in 2014, entitled “A Better Tomorrow”, which has also increased the group`s net worth.

2The Wutang was the first in the hiphop industry, under RZA's guidance in the early 90's, to secure solo album deals while maintaining a separate record deal as a group. The group was also one of the first to design and promote its own line of clothing, WuWear. These two formulas of record deals and clothing lines were duplicated by companies like Rocafella and G-Unit.
3The core group is extended into what are called wu-tang affiliates. They include successful but mostly underground acts Killarmy, Sunz of Man, Shyheim, La the Darkman, Gravediggaz, Theodore Unit, Ice Water Inc, Wu-Syndicate. RZA has a brother in Killarmy (9th prince) and a cousin in Sunz of Man (prodigal son). Furthermore, rapper Redman is very close to the clan, and Cappadonna, once an affiliate, is now a full fledge member.
4Members RZA and The GZA are advanced, trained chess players.
5The clan is made up RZA, The GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Masta Killa, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, and the late Ol' Dirty Bastard.
