Suits you how the grooms style is just as important as the brides

While most of a wedding’s fashion focus is on the wedding dress, there are plenty of men’s fashion details to choose from for a look that matches both the style of the wedding and complements the bride.
“Men’s fashion is oftentimes overlooked,” said Francesca DiSpirito, owner of Francesca DiSpirito Styling. “The bride is putting so much time, money and effort on her wedding look, the groom needs to mimic that level of investment.”
There are a variety of ways to customize a suit.
“Men are increasingly comfortable bringing some personality into their wedding day choices,” shared Michael Andrews, owner of the Groom Shop. “We’re seeing more variety in color (pink and teal tuxedos), styles (suits with shorts for beach weddings and skirt-suits for gender-inclusive affairs) and fits, from super-skinny tuxedos to bell-bottom pants and oversize jackets.”
One way to customize a suit option is to choose a special lining. The Groom Shop by Michael Andrews offers hundreds of lining designs, or can custom-print one with your own art.
“Consider creating a fun lining with artwork from the wedding invitation, or your married monogram,” suggested Julie Sabatino, author of “Dressed, Styled, and Down the Aisle” (Greenleaf Book Group Press, out April 16). “It’s a little detail that no one will know about except the couple, and they will forever be reminded of their wedding day when it’s worn.”
Personalization options include cuff links that are either heirlooms or represent a hobby; suspenders with personality; or a custom pocket square or bow tie.
However, all the experts agree that the most important styling tip is that the suit has to fit properly.
“Fit is paramount,” said Andrews. “Ideally, have something custom-made, but at the very least, get to know a good tailor. A proper-fitting suit or tuxedo will always look a million times better than even the most expensive garment that fits poorly.”
Custom suit atelier Bindle & Keep opened in 2011 and has become the go-to source for custom suits for women. Designing women’s or gender-neutral suits calls for sensitivity and awareness of how a suit performs on the body, said Daniel Friedman, founder of Bindle & Keep.
“It’s important to build trust with the client and work with them to determine what they will be the most comfortable in and what will make them feel best,” he said.
Kids in the wedding party will also want to be dressed to the nines, and D.Leak Designs, owned by Darrick Leak, offers matching father-and-son tails and tuxes.
“Once we create a tux for the groom, we can re-create the design for their child,” explained Leak.
But always remember to keep it true to yourself.
“Your wedding day isn’t the day to bust out new moves or styles,” said Michael Bastian, Brooks Brothers’ creative director. “If you have a shadow of a doubt, keep it classic.”
