Tevin Campbell was raised by his single mother, who later became his manager, and he started to show an interest in music at a very young age, as he joined the local church choir, where he sang gospel. Thus, Tevin`s professional career beginning traces back to 1988, when he auditioned for Bobbi Humphrey over the telephone. Bobbi was intrigued by Tevin`s talents, and sent his videotape to the Warner Bros, which resulted in a meeting with Benny Medina, vice-president of the Warner Bros and general sales manager for black music.

In 1989 he met with Quincy Jones, who helped him record and produce his first single “Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me)”, which became a complete hit, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles chart in June 1990. Before Tevin released his debut studio album, he released his second single, entitled “Round And Round”, which reached No. 3 on the R&B chart. His full length album was released in 1991, entitled “T.E.V.I.N.”, reaching platinum certification, as it sold more than one million copies, increasing his net worth to a large degree. Furthermore, it featured two No 1 hits “Alone”, and “Tell Me What You Want Me To Do”.

Tevin`s next successful venture was his second album “I `M Ready”, which was released in 1993. The album reached No. 3 on the US R&B chart, and it also achieved double platinum certification, as it sold more than two million copies, which certainly benefited Tevin`s overall net worth. The album spawned one No. 1 hit single, “Can We Talk”, and several songs which reached the top 10 of the R&B chart.

After the success of his first two albums, his third album “Back To The World”, released in 1996, wasn`t as successful, receiving only gold certification, and topping out at No. 11 on the R&B chart.

Three years later, he released his last studio album to date, entitled “Tevin Campbell”, but its success wasn`t even close to his previous releases, as it didn`t manage to enter the chart higher than 30th place. The same year, Tevin was arrested for soliciting and for possession of marijuana, so he didn`t appear in public again until 2003, however, in 2001 he released a compilation album “Best Of Tevin Campbell”, which certainly added to his overall net worth.

His wealth also benefited from his Broadway appearances during 2005, since he was featured as Seaweed J. Stubbs in the musical “Hairspray”.

Most recently, Tevin has participated at several events, including the Anaheim Convention, and he also signed a contract with the Spectra Music Group in 2015.

If to talk about Tevin Campbell’s personal life, there is no information about it in the media, as he keeps it very private.
