The illusionist has controversial reputation for using camera effects in his tricks and hired “fans” in the crowd. Besides being one of the best-known faces of show magic, Criss Angel is also a musician and creator and procurer of a reality TV show “Criss Angel Mindfreak”. Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos was born on 19 December 1967 in Hempstead on Long Island, New York. He was first introduced to magic by his aunt when he was 7 years old, and from that point he was obsessed with illusion.

For his live performance show “Criss Angel Believe”, which premiered on 31 October 2008, he worked with the world’s largest theatrical producer “Cirque du Soleil”. Although the show received mostly mixed and negative reviews from critics, it was sold out in hours and it is scheduled to run for 10 years in the Luxor theatre. 4600 performances are scheduled to take place in the theatre.

The marriage lasted four years until they finally decided to file for divorce in 2006. After the divorce Criss Angel dated a Playboy model and Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend Holly Madison but their relationship was shortly-lived. In 2011 he proposed to his current fiancé Sandra Gonzalez. Although he is perceived by some people as someone who is self-involved, Criss Angel is known to share his vast fortune by participating in various charity events.
